How it's done:

Image above is first reprojected to a 3D-sphere. After that our vantage point in space can be manipulated freely as long the target of vision stays in a visible part of the image! Animation is then calculated from the data to a HD-video (1280x720pix)
I like this technique, since original image can now be seen from a new angle and image data itself stays untouched.
